Home of the baldy maker, Nickelson Cattle, has been raising cattle in the foothills of the Gloss Mountains in Northwest Oklahoma going on 5 generations. Jerry and Jane Nickelson are the current owners/operators responsible for producing the quality genetics you find today. Although Hereford’s the primary breed of cattle you will find on the ranch, they also have some of the fanciest ¾ Maine-Anjou cattle that are bred to last.
For decades, Nickelson Cattle has stood the test of time from being featured on the 1987 Oklahoma Hereford Tour to Division winners at stock shows such as Houston, Ft. Worth, Tulsa, and the Hereford Jr. Nationals. Nickelson Cattle offers high-quality replacement heifers, herd sires, and show prospects that can be winners in and out of the show ring.
Other Key Members of the Ranch….
In the summer of 2008, the “King” of the ranch joined the family. He will be the first one to greet you on the ranch. Don’t let his stature scare you, he’s a big ole’ puppy at heart. Although far from bred for ranch work, don’t tell him that he loves to help with every ranch job, especially when we are working cattle.
